My Church Family,
On my bedside table, I have a few of my most loved books. Books I find uplifting and calming.
After Pastor Michael's sermon on "Grace, Mercy, and Peace" (and remembering all the many blessings I have received, and probably didn't deserve), I found myself drawn back to my book stash, just flipping through well-worn pages of enlightenment. I came across a prayer by Marjorie Holmes, "Just for Today". Needless to say, there have been many times when this was my "daily prayer".
Oh, God, give me grace for this day.
Not for a lifetime, nor for next week, nor for tomorrow, just for this day.
Direct my thoughts and bless them,
Direct my work and bless it.
Direct the things I say and give them blessing, too.
Direct and bless everything that I think and speak and do.
So that for this one day, Just this one day,
I have the gift of grace that comes from your presence..... AMEN !!
Ephesians 2:8 I mean that you have been saved by grace through believing. You did not save yourselves; it was a gift from God.
Love to you!!
