I have really enjoyed listening to Michael's "Eyewitness" series of sermons, from the book of Luke.   Luke had a strong desire to know and report what really happened, the hard facts of Jesus time on earth and who He is; however, he wasn't present for Jesus ministry, so he had to rely on the first hand accounts of the apostles and others who were there. I heard just last week that the number one downloaded podcast in the United States is a "through the bible" reading and discussion, done by a priest in Minnesota.  I couldn't believe it... Over 230 million downloads!!  I guess I shouldn't be surprised; with the state of our world, people are clearly searching for something.  That brought a couple verses to my mind: But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord.  Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect...     1 Peter 3:15 But how can they call on Him if they have not believed? And how can they believe if they have never heard of Him?  And how can they hear of Him unless someone tells them?     Romans 10:14 There are people that we come into contact with every day that are yearning and searching for the peace and hope that only a relationship with Jesus can bring... and it is up to us, His followers, to tell them about it!  Now, don't go to work tomorrow,  grab a hold of someone and beat them over the head with your bible, even though I know we all have somebody we'd like to do that too!  But, like Peter said, be ready to share what Jesus has done in your life when the opportunity arises.  Tell them what you've been praying about, ask if there is anything you could pray about in their life.  I've found that if people know you genuinely care, they will open up about a lot of things.  Plant the seed, and then sit back and watch God make it grow.. but don't be surprised if He asks you to water it once in a while!
