Rise Again After Failure

10.10.23 | Elder's Corner | by Judy Ferguson

    FCC Family,

"For a righteous man falls seven times, rises again, but the wicked stumble in time of disaster and collapse." Proverbs 24:16

ln late summer Dana and I had an opportunity to travel into many western states, after a five year hiatus. Along our journey, we drove through the small town of Orderville, Utah. I am always looking for enlightenment! Along the highway was a small sign with the phrase, "You never fail until you stop trying!" AHAA!! I wrote down the statement, thinking I could possibly use it for later journaling. This quote has been claimed by many well-known individuals, each with a slightly personal emphasis on the STOP TRYING portion. Ex. Wholly defeated unless he defeat himself, or until they fail to try, or give up, or lose faith in yourself..... you get the gist.

We know Jesus specializes in transforming failures into rocks of strength for the church, as He did with each of His disciples, often! And as He continues to work within us, each and every day, to do the same. We are offered AMAZING GRACE! Failure is a certainty, but it doesn't mean we have lost. Become more determined with each failure.

"Everyone stumbles. The difference is in the response. Some stumble into the pit of guilt. Others tumble into the arms of God.” (Glory Days, Max Lucado)

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don't depend on your own understanding. Remember the Lord in all you do, and He will give you success." Proverbs 3:5-6

    Blessings and Love to You!
