Still Moments

12.29.20 | Michael's Corner | by Michael Ten Eyck

It has been quite a crazy week around here.  We moved out of our wonderful administrative building and into nooks and crannies around the Crossroads Center, brought the ministry of Children First to a temporary conclusion, wrapped up Advent, had a wonderful friend and coworker retire, and diligently attempted to gather information about the building next door to the Crossroads that is for sale.  Oh yeah, continued to deal with a pandemic…  just your ordinary Christmastime, nothing to see here, folks!

In the midst of the chaos, I am reminded of the miracle of the birth of Jesus.  While Bethlehem was crowded and bustling, consumed with the business of the season, a great miracle was taking place in the overlooked, quiet space.  God came to dwell with man…

In the midst of the tumult around, I am reminded like the wise men to seek out the solitude of encountering Christ.  As the Prophet, Jeremiah says of the Lord,  “You will seek me and find me. When you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you…” Jer 29:13-14a

Look for those still moments to connect with your Heavenly Father as we conclude this year.  Seek His counsel and direction as we begin a new year.  Seek Him and you will find Him when you seek Him with all your heart.

O come let us adore Him….

    Loving you all,

    Michael
