How is your prayer life?  Do you often reflect on your walk with the Lord or does the hustle and bustle of this life push your prayer time to the bottom of the to-do list for the day?  I have a difficult time achieving set-aside time for prayer, and an even tougher time finding quiet time to listen to what God has to say to me.

Lately, I have found it hard to slow down and put aside the cares of this world and reflect and study God’s word.  Reading my Bible usually helps me relax and put me in a frame of mind to listen to what the passages say to my heart.  Bible study helps me to reflect on my achievements and shortcomings as well as my wins and losses.

In the every day rush of life, do we find ourselves asking God what to do about this or that, or help with whatever obstacle is currently in our way?  Take time to pause for an answer.  It might be a small still voice, or it could be a hardly recognizing sign we normally would not notice as we whiz by at 100 MPH.  Just as it is easier to observe things at a little slower pace than at full tilt, so is it harder to hear God’s reply if you are not tuned in to His broadcast frequency.

Is your radio on?  Are we tuned to the world broadcasting network or are we listening to the Bible broadcasting company?  It is hard to get God’s direction in our life if we are not tuned to the right station.

But in all our living, remember Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God.”
