Walk Together

03.10.26 | Michael's Corner | by Michael Ten Eyck

    Dear Church Family,

Last week we spent time in the Word talking about the importance of belonging to the body of Christ. The church is not simply a place we attend on Sundays. Scripture describes it as a living body where every believer has a role to play. “For just as the body is one and has many members… so it is with Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:12, ESV). Each of us is called to grow together, serve together, and participate in the work God is doing through His church.

At First Christian Church, we want to make both involvement and membership clear and accessible for everyone.

There are many ways to begin serving and participating in the life of the church. One of the best ways to stay informed is by signing up to receive Steeple Points, where we keep the congregation updated on current projects, ministry opportunities, and upcoming work days around the church.

If you are interested in getting involved, simply contact any elder or the church office. They will gladly help connect you with areas where your gifts, time, and passion can serve the body of Christ. Whether it is helping with projects, serving in ministry, or participating in outreach, there is always meaningful work to do together for the Kingdom.

If you feel led to make First Christian Church your church home, the process is simple and welcoming.

The first step is to connect with Pastor Michael or any of our elders and go through First Things First, our membership information class. This class walks through who we are as a church, what we believe, and how we live out our mission together. The class is also available on our church website if you would like to review it there.

If you have never been baptized, we will gladly work with you to schedule your baptism as part of your step of faith and commitment to Christ. Pastor Michael offers baptism classes periodically and as requested.

Finally, when you are ready to join, you can simply give Pastor or an Elder a heads up, come forward during the invitation time at a Sunday service, and we will welcome you into membership with the church family.

Church membership is not about signing a form. It is about committing to walk together in faith, encourage one another, and labor side by side for the work of the Gospel.

At First Christian Church, we believe the Christian life is meant to be lived in community. So if you have been thinking about taking that next step, we would love to walk alongside you.

Let’s grow together, serve together, and get involved in Kingdom work.

    Loving you all,

    Michael
